SELFIE AUTOMATON
2016
Co - author of the project Selfie Automaton: building and designing of six automatas with wooden puppets, that represented
Romania in the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2016.
“Selfie Automaton questions the position of the individual in his structured relation to and among others, in the context of his own desires, in order to return, indirectly, to problems specific to the profession. The “battle” in and for the built environment, reduced to a personal level, has universal echo, exceeding the limits of local problematics and national specificities” - text by Kim Attila for the catalogue of the exhibition.
“Selfie Automaton” talks about mechanisms and the role of the individual in their making and functioning.
“The exhibition has been assembled from three directions – architecture, puppetry and art – around a common core: automata. Uncanny and entertaining objects, automata are used as a pretext and a way of communicating, between the authors and the public of the Biennale” - text by Tiberiu Bucșa for the catalogue of the exhibition
Project realised together with Tiberiu Bucșa, Stathis Markopoulos, Andrei Durloi, Perényi Flóra, Oana Matei, Ana Botezatu, Adrian Aramă, Kostis Zamaiakis, Alexis Papachatzis
The exhibition travelled to:
Titirimundi festival in Segovia, Spain; FIPT festival Iasi, Romania; Museum of Contemporary Arts, Bucharest, Romania; Alatza Imaret,Thessaloniki, Greece; Museum Speelklok, Utrecht;
